Most love songs are about the beginning - the rush, the falling, the not-being-able-to-think-straight. Beautiful. But it's the easy part.

This album is about what comes after. About two people who know themselves well, see each other clearly, and choose one another anyway. Every morning. On purpose.

The idea grew out of something I care about far beyond music: how a relationship actually stays alive - how love keeps growing instead of quietly fading. It comes from years spent with Nonviolent Communication, from reading Fromm, Gottman, Perel and Corssen, and from ordinary life.

What I found is that the answers are surprisingly small. Asking a question and actually listening. Saying what you need while it is still easy to say. Noticing what lights up the person next to you - and going to get more of it.

So the twenty songs move outward and back again: from a kitchen at sunrise, out to mountains, cities and the sea, and home to the same kitchen - where the last line of the album is the first line of the first song, now sung by two voices.

If one track makes someone turn toward the person beside them instead of away, the album did its job.
